Origin Pour ("we", "us", or "our") is a sole-proprietorship online shop operated by Lloyd and run through originpour.co (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Site or the products and services offered through it (the "Services").
We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, with provincial privacy laws including Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25), British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act.

1. Personal information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact information — name, email, phone number (if provided), shipping and billing address.
- Account information — login credentials, order history, subscription preferences.
- Payment information — processed by our payment providers (Shopify Payments, Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
- Communications — messages you send us (email, contact form), reviews, survey responses.

- Shopify (our e-commerce platform) and Shopify Payments or Stripe (payment processors).

2. Why we collect it
Under PIPEDA we only collect information for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate. Those purposes are:
- Processing orders, managing your subscription, and arranging shipping.
- Communicating with you about orders, shipping, subscription status, and customer service.
- Sending marketing emails — only with your express or implied consent as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Personalizing your experience (e.g., remembering your grind preference).
- Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- Complying with Canadian federal and provincial law.
- Improving the Services (aggregated, non-identifying analytics).
3. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers and suppliers — Shopify, payment processors, email providers, analytics vendors, and our fulfillment and shipping partners (including any third-party suppliers that ship directly to you on our behalf). Each acts under contract and only to the extent necessary to provide the Services.
- Legal — when required by Canadian law, subpoena, court order, or lawful government request.
- Business transfers — if Origin Pour is sold, merged, or reorganized, personal information may transfer with the business.
- With your consent — for anything else.
4. Cross-border data transfers
Some of our service providers (including Shopify and several fulfillment partners) store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States and other countries. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in those countries, where it may be accessible to local authorities under local law. We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and (with your consent where required) show relevant advertising. You can control cookies through your browser. Disabling them may break some Site features.
6. Your rights

7. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Order and tax records are retained for at least 6 years to meet obligations under the Canada Revenue Agency's record-keeping rules.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required by PIPEDA.
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children under the age of majority in your province (18 or 19). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version takes effect when posted. Material changes will be emailed to subscribers where feasible.
